Fur Baby Friday

This Fur Baby Friday entry features my youngest fur baby Tili. I love Tili's markings, it was the first thing I noticed about her when I adopted her. Tili is the most curious of all my fur babies. She always has to get her cute nose into everything. LOL.. She is also the sweetest of my fur babies. Tili loves to come up to you and rub herself against you to say hello,  I like to call this "The Drive By".

This picture was take when Tili was a young squirt and she had her favorite t-shirt on that I bought her.

This is one of Tili's favorite places to lay in the Summer and sun tan while watching the birds.

The Domestic Diva's Easter Decorations!

I just wanted to share with you all my Easter decorations, that I have up in my house. Its always been a tradition in my family to put up far too many Easter decorations. *LOL* For some reason it seems that every year I always add more and more Easter decorations to the mix. I even have Easter decorations in the windows and outside in front of my house. I truly love to decorate for the holidays and my neighbors always comment on how the house looks.

This is a picture of my fireplace mantel with just some of my Easter decorations. Most of the Easter decorations were purchased from local thrift stores around town. =-)
I found this cute Easter bunny at one of my favorite thrift stores, and I couldn't resist taking him home and adding him to my Easter collection this year.

Happy Easter Everyone,

Sophie Kinsella's New Book "I've Got Your Number"!

I'm doing my Happy Dance right now! Sophie Kinsella's New Book "I've Got Your Number" is out, and I'm so excited! I absolutely love her books, I can never seem to get enough of them. I have posted a synopsis below of "I've Got Your Number".

I've lost it. The only thing in the world I wasn't supposed to lose. My engagement ring. It's been in Magnus's family for three generations. And now, the very same day his parents are coming, I've lost it. The very same day. Do not hyperventilate Poppy. Stay positive!!

Poppy Wyatt has never felt luckier. She is about to marry the ideal man, Magnus Tavish, but in one afternoon her 'happy ever after' begins to fall apart. Not only has she lost her engagement ring but in the panic that followed, she has now lost her phone. As she paces shakily round the hotel foyer she spots an abandoned phone in a bin. Finders keepers! Now she can leave a number for the hotel to contact her when they find her ring. Perfect!

Well, perfect except the phone's owner, businessman Sam Roxton doesn't agree. He wants his phone back and doesn't appreciate Poppy reading all his messages and wading into his personal life.

What ensues is a hilarious and unpredictable turn of events as Poppy and Sam increasingly upend each other's lives through emails and text messages. As Poppy juggles wedding preparations, mysterious phone calls and hiding her left hand from Magnus and his parents... she soon realizes that she is in for the biggest surprise of her life.

St. Patrick's Day Clover Cookies!

Sprinkle a little luck on your sugar cookies.

4 cups sifted all-purpose flour, plus more for dusting
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter
2 cups granulated sugar
2 large eggs
2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
Green sanding sugar

1: Sift together flour, salt, and baking powder into a large bowl; set aside. Combine butter and granulated sugar in the bowl of an electric mixer fitted with paddle attachment; cream on high speed until fluffy. Beat in eggs

2: Reduce speed to low. Add flour mixture in two additions, mixing until well combined. Mix in vanilla. Divide dough in half, and cover with plastic wrap; refrigerate 30 minutes.

3: Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Roll out 1 piece of dough on a lightly floured work surface 1/8 inch thick. With a 3-inch cookie cutter, cut out 25 rounds. Working with 1 round at a time, place clover stencil on top; sprinkle surface with sanding sugar.

4: Arrange rounds on parchment- or nonstick baking mat-lined baking sheets. Refrigerate until firm, about 15 minutes, or until ready to bake. Repeat process with remaining dough.

5: Bake, one sheet at a time, until edges just start to brown, 10 to 12 minutes. Let cool completely on sheets on wire racks. Store cookies in an airtight container for up to 5 days.

Here is the link to the shamrock stencil that they used on their cookies.

Makes 50 cookies

Japan Tsunami Anniversary: Girl Who Became Symbol Of Tragedy.

Its been one year since that deadly earthquake & tsunami hit Japan. I still get a tear in my eye when I see the images of the tsunami flooding of all the towns, and the people who could not get out in time. My heart goes out to all the of Japanese people who lost a loved one's that day.

I posted this picture because I stumbled across an article on the internet telling the story about the girl in the photo. Of all the pictures that I have seen in the news, on the Internet, and the magazines, this is by far the one photograph that has affected me most.

Here is a snippet of the article, that I found on the internet about the girl in the photo if you want to know more about the background.

"One year after she was pictured sobbing in the remains of her home in the Yuriage district of the town of Natori, instantly becoming a symbol of the devastation wrought upon Japan by the March 11 tsunami, Akane Ito cannot bring herself to return again.

Ito, 29, had lived in a second-floor apartment that had stood where she was photographed and had gone to buy batteries and emergency supplies after the magnitude-9 earthquake struck.

She had believed that her 10 pet dogs would be safe while she was away, but the tsunami destroyed their home and she was only able to return two days later.

Ito, who worked in a bar, was crying for the pets that she said she could not save.

"I kept apologising in my mind to the dogs for not being able to protect them," she told the Asahi newspaper, which first ran her photograph.

Over the next few weeks, she was reunited with two of her dogs – May, a 6-year-old female Labrador, and Momo, a female poodle – but continued the fruitless search for the others for months."

My Pretty Little Spring Plant!

Welcome Back Everyone,

With Spring just around the corner, I just wanted to share with all of you the beautiful plant my darling fiance bought me. Isn't it just beautiful? I just love the color pink, especially pink flowers. The pot my plant is in is just precious. Every time I look at that the pot, I have a huge smile on my face. =0)

I love all kinds of plants and flowers, but my all time favorite plant would have to be Lavender, with my favorite flower being the any kind of Rose. Speaking of roses, I will be posting pictures of my precious roses that I have been growing for you all this Summer. My roses are my babies, I love them so much. I have a red rose bush, pink rose bush, and mini lavender rose bush. I'm hoping this year to plant a peach rose bush, dark pink rose bush and possibly a black rose bush if I can find one.

Last year I planted black petunias and they were absolutely gorgeous. This picture does not do them justice. I have posted a picture below of my black petunias for you all to see.

I can't wait to get my garden decorations out from the shed, and start planting beautiful flowers and my above ground garden.

Petco Sued For Accidentally Chopping Off Puppy's Ear And Gluing It Back On!

Welcome Back Everyone,

I wanted to share this with you all. I read the article (below) on today, and I just about fell out of my seat. So as it goes, some lady takes her precious puppy "DoDo" to get groomed at the groomers. The groomer accidentally cuts off the dogs ear, and what happens next is what is so shocking! ..Instead of telling the owner what she had done, she decides to GLUE the dogs ear back on! The groomer then goes on and puts one of those pretty little bows in the dogs hair to cover her handy-work up. The owner of the dog did not notice the injury to the dog right away, but she could sense something was wrong with DoDo. DoDo was acting aggressive towards her mommy and that was not normal. Soon, mommies husband figures it out spotting the evidence on the dog's ear. Now, I'm not a mommy to a dog, but if this was my dog, and some groomer cut my sweet angel's ear off, I would have opened two full cans of Italian whoop-ass on the groomer! 1/4 can for messing up my dogs ear, and 1-3/4 cans for trying to cover it up!

Below you can read a snip it of the article below and then you can follow the link to the full article on I'm sure you will fall out of your chair as well when you read the full article.

"(NaturalNews) Petco is being sued by two former customers who claim that groomers at a store in Hawaii mutilated their dogs. In one case, groomers cut off a dog's ear and attempted to cover it up by gluing the ear back on.

When Gladys Kapuwai brought her dog Dodo home from Petco groomers in Kaneohe (wearing a bow), the dog began acting aggressive for no apparent reason. Kapuwai's husband investigated and found dried blood all over one of Dodo's ears. Closer inspection showed that the ear had been cut off and then clumsily reattached.

"I mean, they just covered it up," said Kapuwai's attorney, Michael Green. "The bow was to cover the fact that they had severed the ear, cut through the cartilage. The ear was ... almost cut off."

Nut-Free, Flourless Beet Brownie Cake Recipe!

Hi Everyone,

I just wanted to post a healthy recipe that I found on one of my favorite websites that I follow at for all of you. I have recently been looking for alternative recipes that are not full of sugar and that are very healthy and good for you. I plan on making this recipe really soon and I will also be experimenting with it as well. I hope you all enjoy this recipe and make it for your friends and family.

Nut-Free, Flourless Beet Brownie Cake Recipe!

This flourless cake recipe is also nut-free, gluten-free and full of beets--yes, beets. Taking a nod from Mexican pastries, it's spiked with ample cinnamon and a touch of spice. The texture is moist and spongy, not unlike a souffle cake. It's irresistible for lovers of beets, cakes and chocolate. Indulge.

Makes one 9-inch cake

3 medium or 2 large beets, scrubbed
¾ cup honey
3 organic eggs
½ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
1/3 cup extra virgin olive oil
1 teaspoon grated orange zest, optional
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
¼ teaspoon sea salt
¼ teaspoon cayenne pepper

Preheat oven to 350°F. Prep a round cake pan.

Step 1: Cut beets into quarters. Place in a small shallow saucepan of water; bring to a boil over high heat. Steam, covered, until beets are soft, about 20 minutes. Drain water. Combine beets and honey in a food processor; puree until smooth

Step 2: Add remaining ingredients to beet mixture; puree until completely smooth. Pour batter into prepared cake pan.

Step 3: Place in oven and bake until a toothpick inserted in the middle comes out clean, about 35 to 45 to minutes. Let cake cool in pan 10 minutes; remove from pan and cool completely on a wire rack.

Step 4: Serve with powdered sugar and dusted cinnamon.
